synthesis; vii) Synthesis of drugs and chiral compounds using
immobilized enzyme or whole cells (bacteria, actinomycetes, yeasts,
basidiomycetes or filamentous fungi); viii) Immobilization of
enzyme and whole cells; ix) Resolution of racemic mixtures of
acids, amines, alcohols, esters, etc. using proteases, acylases,
esterases or lipases; x) Stereoselective red-ox process using
whole cells; xi) Chemical synthesis of heterocyclic compounds;
xii) Synthesis of nanostructures with optical and electric properties;
xiii) Screening of microorganisms producing enzymes with interest
in Biotransformations; xiv) White
Biotechnology.
The Biotransformations Group has been recognized by the Regional
Government of Madrid as a "Reference
of Quality". After the first evaluation,
only a few research groups deserved that honor. More information
at Madrid+D web site.
Industrial
Biotransformations Service: The Biotransformations
group participates in the research and technology transfer activities
of Madrid Science Park, a R+D+i foundation belonging to Universidad
Complutense and Universidad Autónoma.
